Reliavue Shade Cleaning Instructions

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Operate the shade daily. The up and down movement will “shake off” most dust preventing build-up. Dusting frequently prevents dust build-up and maintains clarity.
  • It is recommended that the shade remain in the brackets or cassette while cleaning to prevent handling and reinstallation of the shade.
  • Dust, wipe or dry in a single direction.
  • Clean with a soft dry cotton cloth or feather duster. Use a soft 100% cotton cloth along with a cleaning solution to remove fingerprints, spots or greasy residue. Do not use abrasive cleaning or wiping materials such as paper towels, sponges, brushes or brooms.
  • Fingerprints and most smudges, spots or greasy residue are easily removed with a mixture of mild detergent diluted with water. Spray an adequate amount of the water solution onto the shade to allow surface cleaning without scratching.
  • Shades must not be rolled up after using wet solution to clean before they are absolutely dry.
  • Cleaning Solution
    • Mix a diluted solution of 2 ounces dish washing liquid with 14 oz. tap water. Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) can also be used as a cleaning solution.
  • Do not use window cleaners or other solvents containing ammonia.
  • To prevent soap spotting, it is recommended not to clean in bright, hot sunlight.
  • Dry the fully extended shade with a soft cotton cloth.
  • Re-rolling by other than the use of the chain/cord roll-up device may cause the shade material to crease, dent, and fold or become misaligned.
